About the Role

Gill Welding And Trailer Repair Ltd. is seeking a skilled Welder Helper to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assisting our welders and metal fabricators in the fabrication and assembly of metal products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant manually.
  • Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers in their tasks.
  • Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials to ensure efficient production.
  • Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
  • Load and unload vehicles to facilitate the transportation of materials and products.
  • Polish metal products to a mirror finish to meet our high standards.
  • Read and interpret work orders to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment to support our production needs.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Stand for extended periods, handling heavy loads and working in a physically demanding role.
