In alignment with Northern Health's vision of an integrated service system centered on Primary Care, the Primary Care Nurse (PCN) adheres to the professional standards and ethical guidelines set forth by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). The PCN collaborates as part of an interprofessional team, employing best practices to deliver competent, safe, and ethical care to individuals and families across various settings, including physician offices, homes, schools, and community environments. The role includes clinical follow-up in accordance with the individual's Primary Care Plan and personal care goals, developed in partnership with the interprofessional team. The Primary Care Nurse is responsible for providing direct clinical services to individuals, groups, and communities.
Work ScheduleMonday to Friday, Day Shift - 08:00 to 16:30
CompensationThe new wage structure offers: $55.91/hour.

Community OverviewDawson Creek, known as the Mile Zero City, is surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the Northern Rockies. With a population of approximately 12,500, it serves a broader community of around 20,000 and contributes to the larger Peace River Region of 60,000. The city boasts several educational institutions, including elementary and secondary schools, as well as Northern Lights College for adult education.

- Registered with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN.
- A minimum of three years of recent clinical nursing experience in primary care or chronic disease management, including experience in patient education.
- Current valid B.C. Driver's License.
- Assessment and Intervention - Proven ability to conduct initial and ongoing client assessments and deliver nursing care through prescribed interventions.
- Communication - Effective communication skills with clients, families, the public, and interdisciplinary team members through various mediums.
- Critical Thinking - Ability to analyze and evaluate data from multiple sources to resolve issues effectively.
- Person and Family-Centered Practice - Promotes care that is sensitive to diverse cultures and advocates for client rights and social justice.
