About the Role

The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Income Assistance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Income Assistance Service Delivery Division, you will play a vital role in supporting clients in achieving financial independence and improving their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-person and phone interviews with clients to assess their needs and develop personalized case plans.
  • Use a strength-based and solution-focused approach to case management, empowering clients to take control of their financial situations.
  • Collaborate with clients, ministry partners, and community organizations to develop and implement effective case plans.
  • Determine eligibility for income assistance benefits and connect clients with relevant community resources.
  • Work with diverse and multicultural clients who may face multiple barriers and challenges, including addictions, mental illness, disability, and unemployment.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in the human services field, such as a certification, diploma, or degree.
  • Relevant experience in case management, interviewing, assessing, planning, and referring services and/or supports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage conflict in a calm, rational, and respectful manner.
  • Proficiency in mathematical calculations and computerized programs and databases.
