Integrated Protective Coatings Inc. With over 40 years of expertise in the global oil and gas industry, IPC specializes in proprietary Electroless Nickel and Polymer coatings.
Role Summary
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Controller to oversee the daily accounting and administrative functions of a compact accounting team. This pivotal role involves generating financial reports, conducting cash flow forecasts, managing budgets, and spearheading special accounting initiatives as required. This position is well-suited for a seasoned accountant looking for flexible working hours within a reputable manufacturing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee weekly and month-end accounting operations.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the work of a small accounting team.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, working papers, and reconciliations.
- Analyze operational and financial outcomes, providing insights into the company's performance to management.
- Compile month-end reports, cash flow projections, quarterly Board presentations, and draft year-end financial statements.
- Ensure the integrity and functionality of the accounting system while collaborating with external IT service providers.
- Manage the annual budgeting process.
- Handle payroll for salaried employees, review hourly payroll, and oversee all payroll accounts.
- Process documentation for employee onboarding and terminations.
- Collaborate closely with the plant CEO, operations team, and head-office finance team.
- Prepare year-end working papers for external auditors' review.
- Compile documentation for Board meetings.
Required Skills
- Proficient in Excel.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks preferred (Sage acceptable).
- Hands-on experience in financial statement and budget preparation.
- Strong grasp of financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse groups across the organization.
- Genuine interest in understanding business operations and supporting the team in financial and operational decision-making.
- Demonstrated professional maturity, sound judgment, and effective decision-making abilities.
- Ability to coach and mentor team members effectively.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Degree, certificate, or designation in accounting from a recognized institution, or a combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of five years of comprehensive accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards applicable to private enterprises.
- Experience with QuickBooks or Sage accounting systems.
- Familiarity with Ceridian/Dayforce or equivalent payroll systems.
Compensation
- Hourly wage commensurate with education and experience.
