About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Millwright Industrial Specialist to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods Inc. in a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment, including automated and robotic systems, conveyor systems, and electrical and electronic controls.
  • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts and program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to automate processes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement preventive maintenance measures.
  • Participate in training and development programs to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and advancements in technology.
Requirements
  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement.
  • Experience with automated and robotic systems, conveyor systems, and electrical and electronic controls.
  • Strong understanding of machinery and equipment maintenance, repair, and installation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work at heights, in noisy environments, and with confined spaces.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
