About the Role

At Sun Life, we are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Contingent Workforce Program. As a key member of our Human Resources team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our organization by developing and implementing a global Contingent Workforce Program strategy that aligns with our Talent and Culture strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a global Contingent Workforce Program strategy, model, and process that aligns with Sun Life's Talent and Culture strategy.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, such as Talent Acquisition, HRSS, Procurement, Legal, and Finance, to ensure the program's success and alignment with organizational goals and Program Strategy.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, including Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and Vendor Management Systems (VMS), to optimize the management of contingent workers.
  • Design and oversee the end-to-end process of contingent workforce management, including work orders, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Monitor and analyze key metrics and performance indicators related to the contingent workforce program, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices in contingent workforce management, implementing innovative strategies to enhance the program's effectiveness.
  • Drive implementation of robust governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to all applicable labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in contingent workforce management, including understanding of different engagement models, worker classifications, and legal considerations.
  • Strong project management skills to effectively plan, execute, and monitor the implementation of the Contingent Workforce Program.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulations, labor laws, and compliance requirements in North America and Asia Pacific.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and contingent workers.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills to drive organizational-wide adoption of the Contingent Workforce Program.
  • Strategic mindset to evolve and implement the Contingent Workforce strategy.
  • Bias for action with passion to challenge the status quo. Able to deliver outcomes while empowering the working team, with ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Seasoned experience managing a contingent workforce management program (in-house) or as a vendor.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing global CWP strategies and initiatives (MSP, VMS, global program roll out).
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Experience with technology solutions (VMS, MSP, etc.) and supplier management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

$105,000 - $175,000
