Position Overview

The Wyndham Edmonton Hotel & Conference Center is seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Worker to ensure the upkeep and functionality of our facilities. This role is essential in maintaining a welcoming environment for our guests.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role
Work Environment

This position is based in a hospitality setting, specifically within a hotel and conference center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize industrial vacuum cleaners to efficiently remove debris and refuse.
  • Regularly empty waste containers and trash bins.
  • Perform cleaning tasks including washing windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • Conduct minor repairs and adjustments to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, while coordinating with tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Engage with contractors for ongoing maintenance and repair needs.
  • Handle minor appliance repairs as necessary.
  • Assist in moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repairs.
  • Care for plants, lawns, and gardens.
  • Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure safety.
