MNP is a leading national accounting, tax, and business advisory firm in Canada, providing business strategies and solutions to mid-market businesses.
We are seeking a seasoned Tax Manager to lead our U.S. Corporate Tax engagements, delivering strategic plans and minimizing tax liability for clients.
As a Tax Manager on our U.S. Corporate Tax team, you will:
- Lead multiple client-facing engagement teams on U.S. corporate tax engagements, advising on tax planning opportunities, minimization strategies, and compliance issues.
- Deliver industry and technical expertise on complex tax and assurance issues through client interactions, reports, and high-quality deliverables.
- Assist organizations in determining effective US corporate structures from a tax perspective and choosing methods of capitalization and financing.
- Perform due diligence or modeling on potential acquisitions by Canadian entities of US subsidiaries, partnerships, or business operations.
- Review domestic and international federal and multi-state corporate and partnership information returns.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, understanding their business, key risks, and ways to deliver added value.
- Accountable for engagement planning, scheduling, and project financials, including budgets, timely billing, and collection.
- Maintain high-quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues relevant to clients' businesses.
- Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities, and contribute to competitive proposals.
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
- Mentor, motivate, and coach team members towards professional and personal development.
Requirements:
- CPA designation.
- 4 to 5 years of relevant public accounting or tax consulting experience.
- Experience preparing and reviewing U.S. tax compliance and implementing tax reorganizations.
- Strong understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles.
- Working knowledge of transfer pricing tax concepts.
- Proven people management, relationship building, and leadership skills.
