Position Overview

CKB Construction is a well-established firm with a strong focus on Industrial and Commercial civil construction, boasting over 40 years of experience. We deliver construction solutions across various sectors, including Infrastructure, Roadbuilding, and Land Development.

Reporting Structure

Scraper operators play a crucial role in field operations, directly reporting to the foreman and providing essential support on our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently move substantial volumes of material.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation, including equipment maintenance records.
  • Conduct inspections using established procedures, report any deficiencies, and address minor maintenance or technical issues.
  • Follow verbal instructions and hand signals as directed.
  • Perform additional related tasks as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess 1-3 years of experience operating a scraper. Experience as a gradesman is advantageous. A valid CSTS-2020, WHMIS 2015, Ground Disturbance certification, and CSA approved 8" steel toe work boots are mandatory. A personal vehicle and a valid driver's license are also required.

Work Environment

Scraper operators will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Candidates must be prepared to spend extended periods either seated in their vehicle or walking/standing on-site. A commitment to working 50+ hours per week at different project locations is essential. Typical working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
