Job Title: Upholsterer

We are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our team at Sublime Upholstery. As an Upholsterer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, custom upholstery for a variety of clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Discuss fabric, colour and style options with clients to ensure their vision is brought to life
  • Provide detailed cost estimates for upholstery projects
  • Replace worn-out webbing, springs and other furniture parts to ensure durability and quality
  • Lay out, cut, fabricate and install upholstery to exacting standards
  • Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons to add a touch of elegance
  • Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces to restore their original beauty
  • Operate sewing machines or sew by hand to create intricate designs and patterns
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in upholstery or a related field
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Ability to distinguish between colours and create harmonious colour schemes
  • Combination of sitting, standing and walking throughout the workday
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Work with a variety of materials, including leather, plastic and fabric
  • May be required to work in a standing position for extended periods
