Job Title: Upholsterer

We are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our team at Sublime Upholstery. As an Upholsterer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, custom upholstery for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Discuss upholstery fabric, colour and style with customers to ensure their vision is brought to life.
  • Provide cost estimates for upholstering furniture or other items, taking into account materials, time, and expertise.
  • Replace worn-out webbing, springs, and other furniture parts to ensure durability and longevity.
  • Lay out, cut, fabricate, and install upholstery, using a combination of traditional techniques and modern tools.
  • Tack, glue, or sew ornamental trim, braids, or buttons to add a touch of elegance to our clients' furniture.
  • Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces to restore them to their former glory.
  • Operate sewing machines or sew by hand to create intricate designs and patterns.
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in the field of upholstery.
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination are essential for this role.
  • Ability to distinguish between colours and create harmonious colour schemes.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and bending, crouching, and kneeling.
