Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Cash Register: Efficiently handle cash registers and process various forms of payment including cash, checks, and credit/debit cards.
  • Transaction Management: Accurately scan items and tabulate total payments for goods or services.
  • Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping experience.
  • Payment Processing: Receive payments and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Daily Reconciliation: Calculate daily or shift payments received and reconcile with total sales.
  • Product Handling: Stock shelves, clean the counter area, and wrap or bag merchandise as needed.
  • Foreign Currency Exchange: Calculate and manage foreign currency transactions when applicable.
  • Security Monitoring: Monitor all entrances and exits, ensuring proof of payment is requested when necessary.
  • Age Verification: Verify customer age when selling restricted items such as lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products.
Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role.
  • Employment Type: Permanent position.
  • Language: English is the primary working language.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
