Position Overview

As a key member of our Compression Operations Engineering team, you will report to the Manager of NGTL/CGL Compression Operations Engineering. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the operation and reliability of compressor station facilities within your designated geo-area, collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and field specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough data collection and engineering analysis to resolve issues, assess facility health, perform root cause analysis, and conduct risk assessments.
  2. Provide troubleshooting support for field operations, including site visits to collaborate with senior reliability specialists and engineers.
  3. Analyze operational and engineering data to identify system issues and opportunities for enhancing equipment reliability and maintenance.
  4. Facilitate risk assessments for operational decision-making related to compression facilities.
  5. Lead the implementation of treatment plans aimed at reducing asset and system risks.
  6. Engage in discussions to determine root causes of equipment failures and assist in developing corrective actions.
  7. Support ongoing GPMC projects by ensuring that identified risks and proposed solutions are effectively managed.
  8. Oversee the development and implementation of Management of Change (MOCs) processes.
  9. Prepare Engineering Justifications to provide technical recommendations for project requirements.
  10. Develop comprehensive handover packages for project management teams, outlining recommended solutions and alternatives.
  11. Conduct Fit for Service and engineering assessments.
  12. Contribute to the development and maintenance of Technical Operating Procedures (TOPs).
QualificationsMinimum Requirements
  1. A degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
  2. Eligibility for registration with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in good standing.
  3. A minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
  4. Proven ability to drive change and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering both short-term and long-term technical solutions.
  6. Familiarity with engineering principles, codes, and standards to identify and recommend improvements.
  7. Ability to adapt to shifting business priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Comprehensive engineering knowledge.
  2. Strong troubleshooting skills, with an understanding of facility operations.
  3. Experience in failure investigation and root cause analysis.
  4. Knowledge of standards related to equipment reliability, safety, and risk management.
  5. Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently, including at field locations.
  6. Experience in maintenance processes and system development.
  7. A valid driver's license and the ability to provide a driver's abstract for review.
  8. Willingness to stay away from home base for work, including living in company accommodations as needed.
