About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Stores Clerk A to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our Central Stores team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient receipt, organization, distribution, and tracking of inventories and supplies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Loading and unloading trucks, shipping, and receiving supplies
  • Distributing and replenishing inventory, including handling equipment and materials
  • Providing exceptional customer service and responding to urgent requests
  • Operating and maintaining equipment, such as electric pallet jacks and manual pallet jacks
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area and dock

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing education programs
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with a variety of computer software and programs
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational, priority setting skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment and effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, as well as leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of the SAP computer system is preferred
  • Previous experience in a central stores/purchasing environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory control is preferred
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of and current relevant experience with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role of Materials Management Service in the delivery of patient care and understanding of how errors may affect medical treatment and cause financial loss
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, French preferred

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time (100%) position, with a competitive hourly rate of $23.17. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
