**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Technician to join our team at Canada Computers & Electronics. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for building, testing, and servicing all products, as well as assessing and reporting back on findings on a case-by-case basis.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Build, test, and service all products to ensure they meet our high standards of quality and performance.
  • Assess and report back on findings on a case-by-case basis, providing detailed analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Locate root cause of custom concerns and recommend actions to resolve issues.
  • Install and configure software, hardware, drivers, and BIOS related items to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Provide sales support and technical guidance to customers, ensuring they receive the best possible service and support.
  • Work evenings and/or weekends depending on shifts, as required.

**Qualifications/Key Competencies:**

  • Must be able to read and speak English fluently, with additional languages considered an asset.
  • Hand soldering skills highly preferred and considered an asset (SMT / board level repairs).
  • Understanding of computer hardware assembly and setup, including BIOS setup, Windows installation/automation, and device interfaces.
  • Ability to repair laptop (LCD, mainboard, components).
  • Able to work well under pressure and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Analytical decision-making skills and strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to work independently and within a group, with a strong team player mindset.
  • Continual Improvement mindset and a commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.
  • CompTIA A+ certification considered an asset, as well as ITIL certification.

**Experience and Education Requirements:**

  • Must be able to legally work within Canada (no job sponsorship).
  • At least 3 years experience within the repair industry.
  • At least 5 years building computer systems (formal or informal).
  • A minimum of High School/GED required.
