About the Role

Zoic Studios is seeking a skilled CG Animator to join our team in Vancouver. As a CG Animator, you will be responsible for creating engaging and naturalistic performances for a wide range of CG characters and objects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take a shot from blocking through final animation under the project's supervisors.
  • Take creative direction from the Director, Animation Supervisor, and Leads to ensure the highest quality of animation possible.
  • Meet deadlines as established by Production Management.
  • Perform other tasks related to CG animation including shot layouts, animating cameras, and props.
  • Create animation clips for a shared animation library.
  • Produce work in accordance with the look and feel of a stop motion production while adhering to established style guidelines.
  • Interpret and match 2D storyboards and animatics.
  • Maintain a consistent level of productivity while producing high-quality work.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience as a CG Character Animator in a professional capacity.
  • Strong grasp of traditional animation principles including posing, acting, performance, layout, appeal, and composition.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Maya.
  • Experience working in VFX or Animation.
  • Experience working with motion capture data and crowds, a plus.
  • Proficient in the fundamentals of figurative art.
  • Excellent communication and technical problem-solving skills.
