Job Title: CG Senior Texturing Artist

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced CG Senior Texturing Artists to join the Atomic Vancouver crew on a short-term 3-month contract.

Company Overview:

Atomic Cartoons Inc. is an award-winning animation studio with locations in Vancouver's Mt. Pleasant Animation District, Ottawa's Hintonburg neighborhood, and Los Angeles. Since its inception 25 years ago, Atomic Cartoons has created and produced numerous 2D and CG animation productions, including Princess Power and Last Kids on Earth.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Work with show supervisors to texture and shade 3D models using Photoshop, Substance Painter, and/or Zbrush.
  • Collaborate with the Assets Department Supervisor(s) and the Art Director to create the aesthetic vision of the production.
  • Share ideas, collaborate, and work closely with other members of the production, including modeling, lighting, compositing, and design.
  • Meet deadlines as assigned by production management while producing high-quality work.
  • Stay updated and familiar with new techniques, tools, or other related software.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of industry experience (Animation and/or Visual Effects).
  • Knowledge of Maya animation tools and props.
  • Knowledge of various rendering software, such as Renderman, Vray, and Arnold.
  • Able to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas.
  • Background in visual arts/design with a strong understanding of form, geometry, and movement.
  • Excellent visual skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of dynamics and/or rigging is an asset.
  • Currently legally eligible to work in Canada.

In addition to competitive pay, this position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits, including medical, GRSP, vacation pay, paid holiday break, paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks.

This expected pay range is for British Columbia and is not applicable to locations outside of the province of British Columbia.
