Accounting Manager Job Summary

Web Hosting Canada (WHC) is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial stability and providing valuable insights to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of daily and full-cycle accounting operations, including transaction management, financial reporting and analysis, and asset and cash flow management.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial and management reporting, including month/year-end close and revenue recognition.
  • Administer and comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Improve systems and procedures, as well as initiate corrective actions to automate and streamline corporate accounting.
  • Guide financial decisions and safeguard assets by developing, documenting, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Mentor and supervise the bookkeeping staff to ensure that all financial deadlines are met in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting/financial management experience with proven experience in the same or similar role.
  • Experience with SaaS or similar subscription-type companies, a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP (i.e., ASPE) and applicable financial regulations.
  • Proficiency with computer and data manipulation skills on Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a knack for managing and mentoring accounting staff.
  • Excellent communication skills (French and English) and the ability to report complex information clearly and accurately.
