Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structural design and technical assistance, including calculations for concrete, structural steel, and connection design, along with design drawing assessments and field investigations.
  • Draft specifications, contract documents, and proposals.
  • Oversee and manage project scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Lead, coordinate, and guide an engineering/design team in producing structural and building finishes deliverables from conceptualization to detailed design.
  • Review project documentation for scope and presentation, ensuring technical accuracy.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, sustainable client relationships.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other discipline leads.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical expertise to the project team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural design.
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng) registration in the province of Saskatchewan.
  • Extensive knowledge of structural designs, industry codes, standards, and construction methodologies.
  • Experience in material design, particularly with structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and/or wood.
  • At least 15 years of experience in mining and/or heavy industrial projects is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Team-oriented with a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Proven skills in collaboration and decision-making.
  • Authorization to work legally in Canada without sponsorship from John Wood Group is required.
