About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment. As a registered Professional Engineer, you will be responsible for working on various industrial projects, including heavy industrial/energy infrastructure steel structures and concrete foundations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and analyze structural systems to applicable codes and industry standards.
  2. Develop designs through sketches, hand calculations, and structural analysis software models.
  3. Work with Engineers and Designers on fit-for-purpose designs that meet the client's needs and requests.
  4. Interface with other disciplines and project management to execute projects per the project plan.
  5. Provide coaching and mentoring to EITs and designers as part of their professional development.
  6. Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects within Stantec's quality control guidelines.
  7. Prepare and coordinate project specifications including construction documents.
  8. Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or clients.
  9. Participate in value engineering and cost estimating.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural.
  2. A Master's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural is preferred.
  3. Registered Professional Engineer in Canada with 5 to 15 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on industrial infrastructure.
