About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Project Coordinator to join our team at PCL Construction. As a key member of our Industrial Management office in Edmonton, Alberta, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects.

Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Assist the project manager in coordinating project activities, including quantity takeoffs, surveys, and contract progress reporting.
  • Subcontract Administration: Maintain contact with select subcontractors, define work scope, answer inquiries, and supervise progress.
  • Change Order Process: Run the change order process, including pricing, negotiating, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact.
  • Tender Packages and Subcontracts: Assist the project manager in crafting and issuing tender packages and subcontracts, and supervise their progress.
  • Project Document Control: Maintain and perform project document control and procedures, including coordinating RFIs, shop drawings, and submittal process.
  • Project Performance Management: Assist the project manager and superintendent in managing and reporting overall project or select scope performance.
  • Progress Claims and Estimates: Prepare and track progress claims and estimates.
  • Inventory and Material Coordination: Coordinate inventory and tracking of materials and equipment, and expedite material orders.
  • Work Packages and Scheduling: Prepare work packages for self-perform work and maintain self-perform schedule and costing system.
Qualifications
  • Construction Experience: 6-8 years of construction experience in an operational role, with mechanical experience required.
  • Education: Construction trade certification or post-secondary diploma or degree in construction management or engineering preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with multiple supervisors and sub-trades.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate knowledge of construction specifications, methods, and procedures, and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Engineering Principles: Ability to apply basic engineering principles to construction challenges.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and willingness to take and pass a Pre-Access Alcohol & Drug Test.
