About the Role

True North Labour Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Safety Officer to join our team. As a Construction Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our workers and the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks
  • Review and verify subcontractor safety plans to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Establish and maintain safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Supervise and monitor the safety performance of all workers on site
  • Respond to employee safety concerns and provide guidance on safety protocols
  • Collaborate with state and local agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Receive and review reports from Department of Labor inspectors

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset
  • Must be safety conscious and have a strong commitment to ensuring a safe working environment
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
