Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of parking services staff, ensuring the efficient management of parking inventory, and providing leadership and guidance to promote effective customer service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day operations of parking services, including maintenance, repairs, and customer service.
  • Manage and maintain parking inventory, including parking lots, garages, and related revenue control and metered systems.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team to promote effective customer service delivery, including investigating complaints and incidents, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support and coordinate requirements for projects, procurement of goods and services, contracts, reports, and agreements.
  • Identify issues and recommend solutions to optimize resource utilization, and apply collective agreement language, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications and Competencies

The ideal candidate will possess a diploma in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering, or a related program, and have a CET designation. They will also have 3 years of recent and relevant supervisory experience in an operational environment, preferably in a unionized setting.

The successful candidate will demonstrate corporate competencies, including customer focus, results orientation, integrity, and teamwork, and possess strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building maintenance and repairs.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Effective conflict resolution skills, with the ability to mediate and facilitate effective solutions.
  • Effective organizational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with and prioritize numerous enquiries.
  • Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and health and safety practices.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time, and work in inclement weather. A valid Class "G" driver's license is also required.
