Job Summary

Sea to Sky Courier and Freight Ltd. is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a Line Haul Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country, ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Route Planning: Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions, utilizing computer equipment, GPS, and other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods safely and efficiently, adhering to company procedures and regulations.
  • Vehicle Operation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks to extend the life of the vehicle and prevent breakdowns.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Record Keeping: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption accurately and efficiently.
  • Cargo Handling: Ensure the safety and security of cargo, adhering to company procedures and regulations.
  • Transportation of Hazardous Goods: Transport and handle dangerous goods safely and in compliance with regulations.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Possess a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) and any other required certifications.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of driver logbook, inspection reports, and other relevant documentation.
  • Work Conditions: Work in a fast-paced environment, with regular exposure to varying weather conditions and physical demands.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrate excellent judgment, reliability, and attention to detail.
