Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of Business Development, the Sales Director will be responsible for identifying and leveraging new business opportunities across North America while managing a team of regional sales agronomists. This role focuses on nurturing existing distributor and retail relationships, leading the sales team, and achieving revenue goals for our expanding product line.
Key Responsibilities
  • Formulating and implementing strategic sales initiatives to meet organizational objectives and revenue goals.
  • Recognizing growth prospects, market dynamics, and new sales avenues to facilitate business development.
  • Establishing sales objectives, quotas, and performance indicators in line with broader business strategies.
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to the sales team to enhance their performance and career growth.
  • Conducting performance assessments, setting individual goals, and creating incentive programs to motivate top performers.
  • Leading negotiations for significant accounts, contracts, and partnership agreements to drive revenue and improve client satisfaction.
  • Evaluating market intelligence, competitive data, and customer feedback to devise effective sales strategies.
  • Identifying and prioritizing target markets, sectors, and regions for sales growth and penetration.
  • Collaborating with marketing, product development, and other departments to ensure alignment of sales strategies with product offerings.
  • Conducting regular sales performance reviews to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Managing sales budgets, expense forecasts, and resource allocation to optimize financial performance.
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure cohesive execution of sales strategies and overall business objectives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in sales leadership roles, preferably within the agribusiness sector.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and managing teams across extensive territories.
  • In-depth understanding of the agricultural sector and farming methodologies in North America.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
