Position Overview
The Heavy Equipment Operator - Utility 2 position at Burgundy Diamond Mines entails the operation of various machinery for site maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will engage in essential tasks such as water and sewer management, waste disposal, road upkeep, and project-related work.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate substantial machinery including loaders, rock trucks, dozers, excavators, and graders
- Manage roll-off trucks and snow removal equipment
- Assist with dewatering processes, rock crushing, and concrete production
- Provide mentorship to fellow employees regarding equipment operation and safety protocols
- Adhere to safety standards and maintain a tidy work environment
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- A minimum of five years of experience as a heavy equipment operator
- Experience in dewatering and road maintenance is advantageous
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Strong attention to detail coupled with effective communication skills
