Position Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is currently seeking a Pipefitter to join our team at the KA Facility. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Foreman within the Gas Services Business Unit (GBU), a segment of the Facilities Division.

The Gas Services Business Unit specializes in gas gathering, compression, shallow cut processing, and both sweet and sour deep cut processing services, primarily offered on a fee-for-service basis under long-term agreements. The KA Facility is a sour gas processing site located 10km Southwest of Fox Creek, employing processes such as inlet separation, amine sweetening, gas dehydration, fractionation, compression, and acid gas injection to produce marketable hydrocarbon products. This facility is recognized as a first-class ABSA registered site utilizing steam generation for heating and utilities, as well as prime movers.

The primary focus of this position will be the maintenance of equipment at the KA facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance and preventative upkeep of equipment, adhering to Pembina's safety and operational standards;
  • Conduct routine maintenance and installation of valves and piping systems;
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of new equipment;
  • Carry out field inspections to ensure reliability and efficiency in daily operations;
  • Engage in bolting, torquing, and vessel preparation tasks;
  • Collaborate with facility engineering, operations personnel, and technical services to identify technical issues and propose optimization strategies;
  • Support the planning and execution of facility turnarounds;
  • Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (SAP) to manage work schedules and document repairs;
  • Maintain equipment in line with our preventative maintenance program;
  • Enter notifications, create and complete work orders, and manage material requests with necessary documentation;
  • Assist operations in optimizing plant performance and troubleshooting issues;
  • Provide technical support for new projects and design modifications;
  • Lead the safe execution of work according to the established schedule;
  • Mentor and train other facility staff as needed;
  • Review existing tasks periodically to ensure procedures remain current;
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and potential improvements in processes or facilities;
  • Be available during assigned On-Call periods and respond promptly to troubleshooting requests;
  • Support Pembina's safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and adhere to the "Life Saving Rules"; and
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Provincial Pipefitter Journeyperson Certificate preferred; however, candidates in a pipefitter apprenticeship program may also be considered;
  • A strong personal commitment to safety, recognized as a safety leader;
  • Relevant technical and industry experience;
  • Comprehensive understanding of facility and pipeline operations;
  • Ability to guide maintenance activities within Pembina's operational practices and applicable industry standards;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Experience with SAP Maintenance Module is highly advantageous;
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Positive attitude with a proven history of teamwork;
  • Demonstrated organizational, time-management, and leadership capabilities;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License;
  • Completion of safety courses such as TDG, H2S Alive, and First Aid.

This position is classified as "Safety Sensitive" and will necessitate Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing, including testing for marijuana metabolites. A Driver's Abstract will also be required.

The successful candidate must reside within a specified distance of the KA Facility.

This position is part of the Local Union.
