Position Overview:

The KA Facility of Pembina Pipeline Corporation is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to become part of our dedicated team. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Foreman within the Gas Services Business Unit (GBU), which is an integral segment of our Facilities Division.

The Gas Services Business Unit specializes in gas gathering, compression, shallow cut processing, and both sweet and sour deep cut processing services, primarily operating on a fee-for-service basis under long-term agreements. The KA facility, located in a strategic area, processes sour gas with shallow cut NGL, employing advanced processes such as inlet separation, amine sweetening, gas dehydration, fractionation, compression, and acid gas injection to yield marketable hydrocarbon products. Our facility is recognized as a premier ABSA registered site, utilizing steam generation for heating and utilities, as well as for powering prime movers.

The primary focus of this position will be the maintenance of equipment at the KA facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance and preventative upkeep of equipment in alignment with Pembina's safety and operational standards;
  • Conduct routine maintenance and installation of equipment, valves, and piping;
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, startup, and maintenance of new equipment;
  • Carry out field inspections to ensure reliability and operational efficiency;
  • Engage in bolt-up and torquing, as well as vessel preparation;
  • Collaborate with facility engineering, operations staff, and technical services to identify technical deficiencies and propose optimization strategies;
  • Support the planning and execution of facility turnarounds;
  • Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (SAP) to manage work schedules and document repairs;
  • Maintain equipment in accordance with our preventative maintenance program;
  • Document notifications, create and complete work orders, and manage material requests;
  • Assist operations in optimizing plant performance and troubleshooting issues;
  • Provide technical support for new projects and design modifications;
  • Lead the safe execution of work according to the established schedule;
  • Mentor and train facility personnel as needed;
  • Review existing tasks periodically to ensure procedures remain current;
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and facility improvements;
  • Be available during assigned on-call periods and respond promptly to troubleshooting requests;
  • Promote Pembina's safety culture of 'Zero by Choice' and adhere to the 'Life Saving Rules';
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Provincial Pipefitter Journeyperson Certificate preferred; candidates enrolled in a pipefitter apprenticeship program may also be considered;
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and recognized as a safety leader;
  • Relevant technical and industry experience;
  • Strong understanding of facility and pipeline operations;
  • Able to guide maintenance activities in accordance with Pembina's operational practices and applicable industry standards;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Experience with SAP Maintenance Module is highly desirable;
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Positive attitude with a proven history of teamwork;
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and leadership abilities;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License;
  • Completion of safety courses such as TDG, H2S Alive, and First Aid.

This position is classified as 'Safety Sensitive' and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing, including testing for marijuana metabolites. A Driver's Abstract will also be required.

The successful candidate must reside within a specified distance from the KA Facility.

This position is part of a union.

The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks, including a Criminal Record Check.
