Sample Reception Specialist
Join our skilled team of professionals in the scientific sector to enhance your technical expertise and propel your career forward. As a Sample Reception Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming all clients with a friendly and positive demeanor.
- Receiving samples from external clients.
- Unpacking samples and organizing them based on analytical requirements.
- Ensuring timely entry of client samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) while adhering to sample holding times, test codes, due dates, and received dates.
- Redirecting required samples as necessary.
- Preparing requests for bottle orders and coordinating their delivery.
- Supporting the Sample Entry team.
- Ensuring accuracy in results and data entry.
- Identifying routine and non-routine issues and escalating them to the Supervisor.
- Maintaining supply inventories.
- Proactively ensuring the satisfaction of our regional client base, including effective communication with project management and supervisors as needed.
- Monitoring and calibrating the temperatures of refrigerators, thermometers, and temperature measuring devices.
- Collaborating closely with project management staff to expand Bureau Veritas's market presence with both existing and new clients.
- Complying with Bureau Veritas's quality assurance/quality control systems, standard operating procedures, and external accreditation requirements.
- Following Bureau Veritas's safety protocols.
You would be an ideal candidate for the Sample Reception Specialist role if you possess:
- A post-secondary degree in the Sciences, preferably in chemistry or a related environmental field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous.
- The ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- An energetic personality capable of working independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A proven ability to work independently while also engaging others when necessary to address client needs or manage client expectations.
- A positive attitude and a proactive approach to thriving in a dynamic environment that requires prioritization and adaptability.
