Qualifications and Requirements

We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Island Health. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition from a Dietitians of Canada accredited university program, and completion of a Dietitians of Canada accredited clinical/general dietetic internship. Registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia and eligibility for membership in the Dietitians of Canada are also required. A minimum of one year of experience as a practicing Dietitian is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, using sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare teams, and other stakeholders through verbal and written communication.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and industry developments in nutrition and dietetics.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in computer software and equipment, including keyboards and related technology.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
