About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Hardwood Floor Covering Installer to join our team at MALWA FLOORING AND CARPET LTD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Underlay and Underpadding Installation: Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding to provide a stable base for flooring installations.
  • Carpet and Resilient Flooring Installation: Measure, cut, and install carpeting and resilient floor coverings on floors, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Damage Repair and Maintenance: Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings, restoring them to their original condition.
  • Pre-Installation Testing: Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations to ensure a successful outcome.
  • Floor Preparation: Prepare floors for installations by removing existing floor coverings and contaminants.
  • Specialized Installations: Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces, employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting, and perform direct glue-down and double-bond carpet installations.
  • Outdoor and Stair Installation: Install outdoor carpets and resilient stair components, including special effects for the visually impaired.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in the field.
  • Work Schedule: 35 to 40 hours per week.
  • Language: English.
