Job Title: Bookkeeper

Hollander Motor Hotel is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other accounting documents.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounting Standards Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, including GAAP and IFRS.
  • Cash Handling: Handle cash, cheques, and other forms of payment, and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Participation in Indigenous Programs: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
  • Cultural Competency Training: Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Elder Support: Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
