Position Overview

Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Therapist to join our Dual Diagnosis Services (DDS) team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Implementing intensive Behavioural programs tailored for adolescents and adults diagnosed with autism.
  • Utilizing Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) techniques to enhance client outcomes.
  • Collecting and analyzing data to track progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
  • Training and mentoring staff in ABA principles and practices.
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of mental health issues and developmental disorders.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Mental Health Act and relevant legislation.
  • Contributing to a collaborative team environment focused on recovery-oriented care.
Qualifications

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
  • A post-graduate diploma or degree in Behaviour Analysis or a related field, such as Behavioural Science Technology.
  • A minimum of two years of direct clinical experience in implementing intensive Behavioural interventions is preferred.
  • Experience with Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is highly desirable.
  • Certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavioural Analyst (BCaBA) is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in data management and computer applications.
  • Current CPR-HCP and first aid certification.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
