About the Role

Horizon School Division is committed to fostering a culture of excellence in education, and we are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Colony Educational Support Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in small group instruction or one-on-one settings, under the supervision of the teacher.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of instructional plans, aligned with the school's curriculum and goals.
  • Provide individualized support to students, including those with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with the school team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the teacher in the classroom, including lesson planning, preparation, and delivery.
  • Assist with the management of classroom materials, resources, and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and community members.
  • Ability to demonstrate respect for Hutterite culture, traditions, and beliefs.
  • Positive attitude towards children, learning, and schools.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
