Job Title: Wooden Truss Maker

We are seeking a skilled Wooden Truss Maker to join our team at Nelson Lumber Company Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling wooden trusses for various construction projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Fabricate and assemble wooden trusses according to design specifications
  • Operate machinery and equipment to cut, shape, and assemble truss components
  • Ensure high-quality trusses are produced with attention to detail and precision
  • Collaborate with other team members to meet production deadlines and targets
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience: Assembly line, framing and shingling, truss manufacturing and building
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, attention to detail, bending, crouching, kneeling, hand-eye coordination, handling heavy loads, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods
  • Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
  • Personal Suitability: Organized, reliability, team player
  • Screening Questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada? Do you have previous experience in this field of employment?
