The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is committed to enhancing the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across the region. The organization also provides province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and operational functions for health organizations.
Position OverviewUnder the general supervision of the Director of Maintenance Services, the individual in this role will oversee the coordination, management, and execution of all maintenance operations, including repairs and preventive maintenance throughout the facility. Key responsibilities include: generating reports and estimates, conducting routine inspections, supervising and mentoring maintenance staff in the operation, repair, and preventive upkeep of building systems, as well as staff scheduling.
Experience- A minimum of seven years' experience in a leadership role as a General Contractor or Project Manager/Foreman (Carpentry) with proven administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills, capable of fostering effective working relationships.
- Completion of high school education in accordance with Manitoba standards is required.
- Graduation from a recognized technical institution with a specialization in Civil Technology, or possession of a current Manitoba Journeyman Carpenter Tradesman's Certificate.
- Certification as an Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) in Manitoba or a Journeyman certificate in a relevant building trade.
- Must possess or be able to acquire comprehensive knowledge of occupational hazards and safety regulations relevant to the area of supervision.
- Ability to document, create, read, interpret, and understand spatial relationships depicted in construction drawings and comprehend information in building specifications and manufacturers' literature is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of various building systems and equipment typically found in large healthcare facilities is required.
- Demonstrated management capabilities along with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are critical.
- Must stay informed about new technologies, materials, equipment, and procedures necessary for precise and efficient project estimating.
- A thorough understanding of building codes is mandatory.
- Ability to organize and facilitate meetings, with excellent oral and written communication skills to convey the implications of maintenance projects to diverse medical, administrative, and maintenance management personnel.
- Visual and auditory acuity along with manual dexterity are required.
