About Us

MetroWorks Employment Association has been a pillar of support for adults facing employment barriers in the Halifax region since 1977. Our Cunard Learning Centre collaborates with the Nova Scotia School of Adult Learning (NSSAL) to provide impactful educational programs.

Qualifications

  • A university degree with the capability to teach Mathematics and Communication.
  • Experience in teaching or tutoring adult learners.
  • Proven ability to foster safe, personalized, and inclusive learning environments.
  • Skill in integrating technology into educational strategies.
  • Comfortable in dynamic environments that require multitasking, relationship-building, and empathy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with learners to develop individualized learning plans.
  • Deliver both group and individual instruction, utilizing in-person and virtual formats.
  • Evaluate program content and adjust the curriculum as necessary to help learners meet their educational objectives.
  • Create a nurturing and inviting classroom atmosphere.
  • Work collaboratively with Cunard's instructional team and MetroWorks' program staff.
  • Maintain regular reports on learner progress.

This position offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, with a comprehensive salary and benefits package that includes paid holidays throughout the program year. Opportunities for professional development are also available.
