BANWAIT WOODWORKS INC is seeking a skilled Woodworking Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in our woodwork projects.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare layouts and designs in accordance with building codes and regulations
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Schedule and coordinate work on sites to ensure timely completion of projects
- Train and mentor apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial structures, including wooden structures in various settings
- Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Perform tasks that require bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads
- Work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking positions
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in the construction industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a team environment
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
English is the primary language of communication in this role. The work schedule is 30 hours per week, with a permanent work term.
