Position Overview

We are seeking a Regional Nursing Education Coordinator within the Home Health Services sector.

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Home Health Regional Program, and in alignment with the department's vision of fostering growth and learning, the Regional Nursing Education Coordinator is responsible for creating a comprehensive Clinical Education Strategy that addresses the ongoing development needs of educational leaders and clinical personnel. This role involves collaborating with a designated service area to provide guidance and consultation to senior management and staff regarding the transition to a unified cloud-based Integrated interRAI Reporting System (IRRS). The position will also support related clinical education strategies and initiatives, as well as the creation of innovative educational programs to align with organizational goals. Additionally, the Coordinator will lead a dedicated team of Educators to facilitate the implementation across the health authority.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive leadership in clinical education in line with the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives while promoting a culture of continuous learning and development. Establish clinical education goals and objectives, ensuring ethical educational practices to enhance clinical education. Contribute to the formulation of an Educational Strategy to support clinical transitions during system implementation. Create a responsive regional education framework that adapts to the evolving needs of the designated area and the organization. Design, coordinate, and implement diverse education delivery methods that are accessible and meet the educational requirements of staff, educators, and managers. Develop and execute educational strategies to support clinical staff across the organization. Formulate program evaluation strategies to ensure that educational objectives are achieved and effective learning occurs. Implement project plans according to established project management methodologies, ensuring readiness for project execution. Provide leadership to project teams in accordance with the agreed-upon charter, ensuring the successful completion of all project-related tasks and requirements. Ensure that clinical education decisions are based on evidence-based practices. Identify clinical education needs and explore opportunities for revenue generation through educational programs and materials. Maintain awareness of Clinical Informatics competencies relevant to clinical practice and education. Manage the Regional Clinical Education budget effectively, optimizing resources. Participate in budget processes with the Regional Director of Clinical Education, including developing proposals for educational needs. Oversee the interRAI-Contact Assessment. Promote and exemplify a healthy and safe workplace environment. Engage in communication and committee work, chairing necessary meetings. Collaborate with the Regional Clinical Education team and colleagues both internally and externally. Adhere to health and safety protocols, reporting any unsafe conditions promptly. Perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Current full registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia (CRPNBC). A Master's Degree in Nursing, Education, or a related field. A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in a complex healthcare environment, including experience in clinical education and program planning. A valid BC Driver's License is required for local travel using a personal vehicle.

Knowledge & Skills:

Proven ability to apply effective project management and change management methodologies to ensure successful implementation. Extensive technical knowledge of client information systems related to the Home Health program, including the InterRAI-HC tool. Clinical experience and understanding of the Home Health Sector. Comprehensive knowledge of educational theory, research, and best practices, along with strong networking abilities. Excellent facilitation, team-building, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with an interactive teaching style. Ability to foster creativity and innovation in strategic planning for learning and development. Superior written communication skills and proficiency in creating high-quality educational materials. Advanced computer skills, including familiarity with various software programs and social media for educational purposes. Strong process design and project management skills in developing learning initiatives.
