About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Trades Assistant to join our team at First Call Construction. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from project sites.
  • Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites by removing rubble and debris, and directing traffic as needed.
  • Task Execution: Perform a variety of tasks, including mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt.
  • Support Services: Provide support to medical examiners and other team members as required.
  • Site Maintenance: Clean and pile salvaged materials, and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks and handling of heavy loads. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a variety of weather conditions.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
  • Experience: Willingness to train and learn on the job.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication.
  • Work Schedule: 30-35 hours per week.
