Part-Time Tutor for Elementary Education

Are you enthusiastic about fostering a love for learning? Do you have a knack for guiding young minds through their academic journey in subjects like French, English, and Math?

We are looking for dedicated part-time tutors to join our educational center. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with students and are committed to enhancing their skills across various subjects.

At our center, tutors are not required to create lesson plans, as all instructional materials are prepared in advance. Comprehensive training will be provided in our unique teaching methodologies.

Position Requirements

All tutors are expected to work during after-school hours, typically Monday through Thursday (4:00 PM - 8:00 PM) and Saturdays (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM). A commitment through the academic term is preferred, with opportunities to continue into the summer. Reliability and a passion for teaching are essential.

This is an in-person role, and candidates must be able to travel to the center. A background check is mandatory.

We encourage applications from those who meet the following criteria:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Fourth-year university students with significant tutoring experience may also apply
  • Teaching certification is a plus
  • Familiarity with the current curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 8

Experience:

  • Prior experience in teaching or tutoring at the Kindergarten to Grade 8 level
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to facilitate student understanding
  • Capability to manage multiple students simultaneously

Responsibilities

As a tutor, you will engage directly with students, taking on the following responsibilities:

  • Instructing up to three students at varying levels
  • Utilizing both online and in-person teaching methods
  • Adhering to our educational philosophies and methodologies
  • Documenting post-lesson notes
  • Providing daily updates on student progress
  • Maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor at all times
