Senior FIPS Security Software Development Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in security standard validation projects, providing expertise to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Design and develop system software that aligns with FIPS-140, LINCE, and/or Common Criteria standards.
  • Conduct thorough security assessments to uncover potential vulnerabilities and enhance overall system integrity.
  • Work collaboratively on product architecture design, integrating FIPS requirements to achieve security goals.
  • Evaluate system logic comprehensively, ensuring compliance with FIPS standards and industry best practices.
  • Examine cryptographic algorithms for both compliance and performance, ensuring they meet FIPS standards and operational needs.
  • Perform detailed code reviews to identify and resolve security issues and ensure compliance with FIPS guidelines.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of FIPS-140, LINCE, or Common Criteria standards.
  • Familiarity with security protocols such as SSH, IPsec, and TLS.
  • Understanding of X.509 certificates and their attributes.
  • Experience with cryptographic methods, including encryption, key exchange, and hashing/authentication algorithms.
  • Knowledge of PKI, OpenSSL, and random number generation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of Linux subsystems and networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, IPsec, etc.).
  • Proficient in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
  • Extensive experience in developing embedded applications for Linux, including design, implementation, testing, maintenance, enhancement, and support of complex software components.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5-15+ years of relevant professional experience.
