We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Clearbrook Animal Hospital. As a key member of our animal care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our furry patients.
Responsibilities- Bathe and shampoo animals to maintain their cleanliness and comfort
- Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stalls, and enclosures to prevent the spread of disease
- Keep accurate records of animals treated, including their medical history and treatment plans
- Assist veterinarians with inoculation and treatment of animals, including administering medications and performing routine procedures
- Clean animal ears and maintain the overall cleanliness of the hospital
- Maintain and order supplies to ensure the hospital is well-stocked and equipped to provide the best possible care for our patients
- Clip animal nails and perform dental cleaning on domestic animals
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience an asset, or equivalent experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a client-focused approach
