About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at McCallum Centre Animal Hospital. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical services.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and process laboratory samples for diagnostic testing
  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including surgery and anesthesia
  • Administer medications and vaccines as prescribed by veterinarians
  • Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
  • Counsel clients on animal health care and provide education on animal behavior and nutrition
  • Conduct and assist in laboratory research and testing
  • Perform a variety of office management and clerical duties, including maintaining accurate records and preparing reports
Requirements
  • College diploma or certificate in veterinary technology or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
