About the Opportunity

Sovereign Insurance is seeking a skilled Claims Examiner to join our Claims Management Team. As a wholly owned subsidiary of The Co-operators, we value our employees' experience and well-being, and we're committed to creating a positive and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve complex commercial liability and specialty lines claims, including professional liability.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to other claims staff in areas of expertise.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to ensure effective risk management.
  • Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of insurance coverage, settlement methods, and creative negotiation skills.
  • Report on reserve loss and expenses within established guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-10 years of claims experience with an emphasis on complex multi-line claims.
  • Previous experience handling commercial property, liability, equipment breakdown, and professional liability claims required.
  • CIP, FCIP, or working towards designation required.
