POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Vice President of Information Security plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the vision, strategy, and programs essential for safeguarding the organization’s information and technology assets. This leader will oversee a dedicated team responsible for managing IT-related risks, particularly those concerning information security.

The incumbent will be tasked with establishing and disseminating standards, procedures, and guidelines to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction of data. Collaborating with key stakeholders, the Vice President will ensure compliance with critical security measures through system reviews, monitoring, and the implementation of security protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of approximately 35 professionals and external consultants, ensuring effective delivery of security services.
  • Conduct IT internal controls and security assessments, developing strategies for information and infrastructure security.
  • Recommend and implement security solutions to enhance network and infrastructure security, demonstrating expertise in both internal and external IT security landscapes.
  • Identify and evaluate security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities to mitigate potential impacts.
  • Support IT teams in integrating security controls throughout the System Security Delivery Life Cycle (SSDLC).
  • Translate business needs into risk-appropriate controls, establishing a robust security governance framework.
  • Serve as a primary expert for government security regulations, collaborating with various corporate sectors to manage technological risks.
  • Develop training initiatives to foster a culture of security awareness among employees.
  • Lead investigations into security incidents and provide technical support as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with Senior Management and the Board regarding security issues and evolving risks.
  • Establish metrics to assess the effectiveness of information security programs.
  • Support business continuity and crisis management initiatives, including simulation planning.
  • Stay informed about current vulnerabilities and cybersecurity practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in information security program management, with significant leadership experience in a large organization.
  • Practical knowledge of Emergency Preparedness, Critical Incident Management, and Business Continuity principles.
  • Experience in nuanced 3 Lines of Defense environments, particularly in managing interactions with Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in developing corporate and cloud security programs using agile methodologies.
  • Strong technical skills and a collaborative approach to leadership.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Fluency in both French and English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the financial sector and relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, PMP, ITIL, Six Sigma) are advantageous.
