Position Overview

As a vital member of the technology team and reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for defining and executing the AI product roadmap at Vention. Your initiatives will encompass areas such as generative 3D design, autonomous robotics, and computer vision. You and your team will play a crucial role in developing the AI infrastructure and launching the initial generation of AI products. Your specific responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technological advancement of Vention's AI and Robotics Vision products, collaborating with various product teams (e.g., Firmware, App R&D, MachineCode, MachineLogic).
  • Develop proof of concepts for essential AI subsystems and outline pathways for their productization.
  • Enhance and maintain Vention's machine learning models across the product range.
  • Build Vention's AI infrastructure (including server architecture, data structures, and edge-to-cloud data solutions) to support machine learning capabilities for diverse product initiatives.
  • Oversee the technical progression of our AI partnerships with software, infrastructure, and robotic arm collaborators.
  • Participate in the Vention Technology Committee, influencing the enterprise-wide technology strategy beyond engineering software.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in software, AI, and robotics technologies.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in software development.
  • 5+ years of experience in ML/AI projects with demonstrable commercial applications.
  • Proven experience in leading or managing a team of ML/AI developers.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and web development frameworks such as React.
  • Experience in designing responsive systems (both embedded and cloud/web).
  • Knowledge of distributed system design and its associated technical challenges.
  • Strong ownership of all phases of the software development lifecycle and beyond.
  • A deep sense of responsibility for delivering comprehensive, end-to-end solutions.
  • A passion for tackling new challenges and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
