Industrial Machinery Technician

At Johnson Electric, we prioritize safety and efficiency in all operations, adhering to our Health & Safety Policies and Quality Systems. As a Millwright, you will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal performance of our machinery.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting diagrams and schematic drawings to establish work procedures.
  • Installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with layout plans, utilizing both hand and power tools.
  • Employing hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and components during installation, setup, and repair processes.
  • Conducting inspections and evaluations of machinery and equipment to identify irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Making adjustments to machinery and executing repairs or replacements of defective components.
  • Operating machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate necessary parts during maintenance or setup.
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating machinery.
  • Constructing foundations for machinery installations.
  • Assembling machinery and equipment prior to installation using various tools and welding equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System and Environmental Health and Safety Systems.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as required.

Our requirements include:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A college degree or Trade School Certification.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience.
  • A solid understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics, along with some welding experience.
  • Ability to work indoors in a potentially noisy environment with varying temperatures.
  • Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and climbing.
  • Capability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work shifts that may include days, afternoons, nights, or continental schedules.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Proficiency in English (both spoken and written) and Mathematics is essential.
