Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manager, Natural Resources Investments to join our team. As a key member of our Natural Resources Group, you will be responsible for the development and investment management of our NR portfolio, with a focus on deal sourcing, investment selection, financial analysis, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead investment analysis and execution of transactions, including screening and analyzing investment opportunities, identifying key investment merits and risks, and contributing to developing an investment thesis.
  • Supervise financial modeling, lead various analyses, and coordinate business due diligence alongside industry experts.
  • Perform in-depth due diligence of potential investments, coordinate advisors and workstreams, meet with management teams, industry experts, and review documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with internal business partners and advisors, including operational, ESG, legal, and tax matters.
  • Draft presentation materials and prepare investment recommendation memorandums for approval by internal committees.
  • Participate in investment recommendation presentations to various internal committees and PSP's Board of Directors as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; graduate degree or MBA an asset.
  • Professional designation: CFA an asset.
  • Minimum of six years of experience in private investments, investment banking, consulting, corporate finance, equity research, or in a natural resources company.
  • Interest in the agriculture, timberland, and critical minerals sectors; prior knowledge in natural resources an asset.
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills; superior proficiency with business software and analytical tools.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Project management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good attention to detail and presentation of information.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and sound business judgment.
  • Good communications skills in English and French (or willingness to learn).
