Position: Tailor (6 months)

As a Tailor, you will be responsible for fitting, pinning, marking, and altering garments according to client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess client measurements to determine the scope of alterations required
  • Pin and mark garments appropriately based on fabric type to guarantee an accurate fit
  • Execute alterations as pinned and marked, adhering to the highest technical standards
  • Ensure timely delivery of completed garments
  • Communicate alteration charges to clients based on the current pricing structure
  • Confirm and relay the completion date for alterations
  • Collaborate professionally with Sales Associates to enhance client satisfaction
  • Provide expert advice on garment cut and fit
  • Complete necessary sections of the alterations tag
  • Adhere to Holt Renfrew's pricing guidelines
  • Notify the department manager regarding supply needs or equipment repairs
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized department
  • Comply with all Health & Safety regulations
  • Ensure adherence to privacy policies, regulations, and cybersecurity protocols

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Formal training in tailoring or seamstress skills, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 2 years in a similar role
  • Experience in altering high-end fabrics
  • Fluent communication skills in English and/or French

Success Metrics:

  • Contribution to financial performance objectives
  • Achievement of individual goals aligned with departmental targets
  • Positive feedback from both internal and external clients
